Become a Trustee

We are looking for new members to join our Board of Trustees.

We’d like to find more people with enthusiasm for and interest in sustaining live performance in our community. Additional skills in, for examples, finance, fundraising, marketing, IT, premises management etc, would be great, but not essential.

Trustees usually attend one weekday evening meeting per month (Monday evening) and may be asked also to contribute to a specific function relevant to their skills, such as helping with the accounts. They will also be part of the volunteer team who run the box office and manage the front-of-house for many of our events. So it helps if trustees enjoy engaging with the public and working in a team.

While we take seriously our responsibilities for the good governance of the charity and sound management of The Acorn, we are essentially a friendly, relaxed bunch of enthusiasts, working alongside our professional Theatre Manager and wonderful team of volunteers.
