Event Description
Award-winning theatre company Rocket Box Theatre presents Bar Tape, a new piece of writing by Harry Brewer.
Davidson, a young college student, lives with his grandad, who has looked after him for most of his life after his parents disappeared and encourages him to follow his dream to compete in the Tour de France. He aspires to be one of the greats. His priorities are split between college, training for a cycling race that could land him a scholarship to study at university, his Grandad’s deteriorating health, and Emily, a girl with whom he becomes infatuated. He becomes a rabbit in the headlights. A story that explores the difficulties of growing up in a rural town with no clear route to achieve the big dreams of youth.
Audience feedback includes:
‘Now that’s how you tell a story’
‘A Tour de Force’,
‘A production that never ran out of imagination’,
‘The most exciting and moving piece of theatre I have seen in recent years’.
All sound music is written and composed by Cornish-based artist Robi Mitch, and Lighting and visual design by Ross Hayward.
