Event Description
Cirque Du Ciel is both proud and delighted to have worked with the Acorn Theatre Penzance for so many years now! Inspiring and empowering the local community to create and perform using the Circus Arts, keeping these unique skill sets alive, relevant and resonant with Cornish cultural practices, events, celebrations and traditions. We have particularly enjoyed watching local young people feel a sense of belonging and ownership when they are inside the theatre, together with the Acorn Theatre we have worked hard to cultivate this perspective amongst them.
Our annual Gala Spectaculars provide the local community with the opportunity to see the yearly hard work of our students translated into beautiful and breathtaking performances. Regardless of age or level of ability, everyone has a unique story to tell, and their own special way of doing this. We think this is why our Gala’s prove to remain a regular fixture in the Acorn Calendar. If you want to be amazed and excited, surprised and delighted, and have your heart warmed over the festive season then step right up!
Cirque Du Ciel celebrates it’s 21st Anniversary year as a charity in 2024! 21 years of serving the Cornish Community at grass roots level. Every penny we receive as a result of ticket sales for these shows goes straight back in to keeping our provisions going, and delivering for the community, and helps the Acorn keep going too. That means your ticket helps us to keep classes for local adults and young people going at the Acorn, and helps us to provide sessions for neuro diverse young people, tots, home educated young people, more after school sessions, at our training space the ‘Circus ‘Works’ in Devoran, along side off site and outreach sessions, events and performances across Cornwall.
