MAKING MARKS [2018]
[UK]
Director Ben MacGregor
Duration 24.00 minutes
Making Marks is a short documentary exploring the reasons why Tony Shiels has been painted out of the St Ives art scene.
During the 1950s-1960s in St Ives, Tony was cutting the mustard with some of the most well-known artist’s from that period. That all changed in the 70s.
Tony became disillusioned with the St Ives art scene and built a reputation as a media showman which ultimately led to his demise. Now almost 50 years on, Tony has been given a platform to give his side to the story and let you, the audience, make the final decision on how he will be defined.
