Event Description

Penwith Local History Group presents a clutch of interesting people that you may never have heard of… until now. Join the Group to find out more about Richard Rodda of Sancreed, who escaped death six times before becoming a Wesleyan preacher; miner’s wife and mother of 12 Alice Nekervis, whose story provides rare detail about an ‘ordinary’ life; Charles Ross, now remembered mainly for the Ross Bridge, but in the late 19th century famous – and notorious –  for a great deal more; and illustrator Hilda Quick, who apart from producing acclaimed artwork was also a notable violinist.

This event is held at Penlee Coach House.
