FRANKIE DAVIES

Singer-songwriter Frankie Davies is back at The Acorn with an intimate and acoustic evening celebrating the release of new music, sharing the stories behind new and old favourites, transporting listeners through both painful and joyful moments in her life. Frankie’s distinctive vocals and storytelling will resonate with fans of Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile and Caitlyn Smith.

Originally from the island of Jersey, Frankie now currently resides in the west of Cornwall and has been continually championed by Bob Harris with a plethora of BBC Radio 2 plays as well as live radio performances. Frankie has visited Nashville on many occasions to write and perform. Her most notable performance was at the international showcase at CMA Fest, as well as touring with some of the biggest names in country music, including Chris Young , Maddie & Tae, Charlie Worsham and The Shires.

In 2018, Frankie released her debut album ‘Wherever I Go’, it gained critical praise and national airplay as well as major playlist support from Spotify. It’s an album that wholly
represents who Frankie is as an artist and songwriter, pushing different genre lines and exploring a little further outside Country and Americana. In 2021, Frankie welcomed her baby boy into the world and turned her focus to motherhood and after a two year hiatus from music, her first release of 2024 ‘Never Used To Cry’ sees Frankie Davies return to her soaring best. It is heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting of the highest order with a vocal performance to match.

‘What she is quite clearly is an artist who can roar, yet still be as gentle as a moment requires.’ – FOR FOLKS SAKE

True Foxes

True Foxes, a rising  folk/americana family duo, are quickly gaining popularity in the South West and beyond.

Amie, with her soulful vocals and earworm song writing, has been compared to artists such as Brandi Carlile, Karen Carpenter, and Dolly Parton, accompanied by guitar, ukulele, banjo, and piano. Chloë complements Amie’s vocals with ethereal harmonies and melodic bass lines. The duo’s sisterly banter adds an emotional dimension to their performances.

If you’re a fan of First Aid Kit and The Secret Sisters but with a touch of British influence, you’ll definitely enjoy True Foxes.
