Liz Ikamba is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Brighton, returns to the Acorn with her band to serve up their distinctive style of music. Her sound fuses elements of dub-reggae, jazz, soul, folk and soukous, hip-hop and traditional African rhythms. Liz draws on a mixture of African diasporic influences as well as greats like Nina Simone and Sade. Her songs are a vibrant celebration of life with its trials and tribulations in all their diverse and colourful glory,

This British-Congolese (DRC) artist is an entrancing performer who enjoys connecting with the audience. Liz invites the audience to add sounds and harmonies to the catchy hooks.

Singing in both English and Lingala, Liz weaves together universal themes of connection and yearning with stories of her life and that of her family. She takes us on a breathtaking voyage back and forth between DR Congo and the UK, delivering a truly unforgettable musical journey.

Liz will sing songs from her debut EP ‘Mama’, described by John Warr of Afrobase on Radio Reverb as ‘an inspired and beautiful fusion of folk influenced soul and Congolese music’.

Adam Ash is a singer/songwriter/producer based in Brighton, UK. Influenced by Jazz, Bossa, and Electronica, he could be compared to artists such as Alice Phoebe Lou, Nick Drake, and Nick Hakim. Adam writes from a place of grief and wonder, complementing his deep-rooted love of music.
