Penzance: Landmarks and Legends with Linda Camidge

Since moving to Penzance 30 years ago, Linda Camidge has become a regular contributor to Penwith Local History Group’s website and books, and leads weekly visitor tours at the Morrab Library. But it is her ongoing research into the history of the town – amassing over a million words to date – that has informed her series: Histories of Penzance. The first part, Landmarks and Legends, looks in detail at some of the sites and stories that have made Penzance what it is: including Sir Humphry Davy and his various legacies, the complicated relationship between pirates and Penzance – and how St. Anthony got his own, special gardens.

Venue: Pixel (Causewayhead)
