Event Description

Born in London, but made in the rural paradise of the Cotswold Hills, Harding’s love of music began with a guitar. Later Sue developed a profound love of roots & amp as well as folk music.  Sue doesn’t remember a time when she couldn’t sing. Her discovery of folk clubs lead her to learn the folk songs that helped shape her craft.

Sue’s solo career began after her time travelling, where she collaborated with Ali George, a fellow singer/song writer from Bath. The pair released Sue’s first album in 2016 which was incredibly was well received.

The album features, stripped back arrangements and intimate vocals. It draws inspiration from American folk music and amp, as well as poets from the 1960s and ‘70s.

“We felt as if we were hearing the spirit of Laura Nyro, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Woodie Guthrie and more all rolled into one.”- Neville Farmer, Music Journalist.

In 2022 Sue released a second album, ‘Darkling’.  Described in The Financial Times as ‘An Ode to the English Landscape’, This album marks a return to Sue’s roots in the West Country.  These songs have a gentle romanticism and a contemporary folk edge at their heart.

“Hauntingly beautiful – A fine example of the new revival in English style traditional folk.” – Julie Nash.

“These songs are delicate and powerful. There is something other worldly about them.” Rob Bozas Head of A&R Long Tale Recordings

Today Sue is enjoying playing regular concerts across the UK and writing for the next album.
