Celebrated poet and broadcaster Murray Lachlan Young (BBC 6 Music, Radio 4, The Wright Stuff) is back to present his thrilling new family performance.
In this brand new show, Murray mixes dark storytelling and poetry with a brilliant score, a healthy dose of physical theatre and a touch of panto in a long, tall dark and a twisted gothic tale which will make you shudder, laugh out loud and delight audiences of all ages. Told and performed entirely in verse, Ghosts, Faeries and Witches are brought to life by Murray in this compelling tale outlining the frightening perils of inheritance.
After a series of untimely deaths 7-year-old Crispin (or Crispin de Quincy de Faversham Clumps to give him his full name) inherits his ancestral home – Raddlesham Mumps. He finds himself in a huge empty house with only an ancient butler for company. And when that butler, Kenilworth, begins to tell him the bizarre and hilarious deaths of his deeply eccentric ancestors the story takes flight on darkly comic wings. Unmissable!

“A fearsome but funny, perfectly metrical gothic tale of dynasty, death, revenge and hope. Fantastic wordplay. Lots of gruesome. Lovely moral. “ Michael Rosen
