Event Description
The Restless Coast: A Journey Round The Edge of Britain, with Roger Morgan-Grenville
An ex-soldier, who also led the first expedition to retrace Shackleton’s trek across South Georgia, Roger Morgan-Grenville is now a full-time writer and campaigner on nature and nature restoration. In 2023/24, he walked 2,000 miles of the British shoreline in 12 sections in search of the challenges and chances of the modern coast, and to talk to the people who are trying to protect and improve it. In The Restless Coast, a book that is at once angry and hopeful, informative and funny, Roger tells of the life-changing journey that he undertook and the lessons he learned. Above all, he makes a plea for the coast to be valued and appreciated as much as it was 100 years ago.
