Event Description

Since coming ashore from being a commercial fisherman, Des Hannigan has written over 50 books, mainly travel guides and travelogues. In this evening’s entertaining talk, he presents an offshore, and sometimes offbeat, view of the ‘Place of Water’ beyond the beaches. It‘s a view of the sea in its harshness and joy: from fishing boats in heavy weather on distant seas to sailing adventures and eccentric ferry trips in the Aegean and even in Venice. Lifejackets are not required. Seasick tablets optional. Wild water guaranteed.

This event is held at The Exchange.
