Event Description

Mirva Theatre returns to The Acorn to bring you an evening with the famous talking skeleton of Cornwall!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – “Who knew you could fall in love with a skeleton!”
“A true Cornish treat.”
“Mirva Theatre is a force of nature.”
In 1597, amidst the threat of plague and the quiet of Cornwall, Shakespeare has retreated from the world, his quill unmoved and his future uncertain. The frightful Queen Elizabeth I has delivered an ultimatum – produce a new play or face the permanant end of theatre as we know it – Shakespeare’s escape is shattered. Enter Yorick, a loud-mouth talking skeleton whose irreverence, tall stories, and relentless humour and force Shakespeare to confront the very things he’s been avoiding.
An Audience with Yorick is a bold, darkly comedic tale about art, power and struggle.
Don’t miss this thrilling journey of self-discovery – where the fate of theatre, and Shakespeare’s soul, hang in the balance.
With live toe-tapping music, incredible puppetry, and gripping storytelling.
Suitable for ages 9+
